We have left most of the old fashioned things behind, including how relationships work. It used to be that men did the leading. They chose the women they wanted to court, marry, and have a life with. Women stayed home and cooked and cleaned and their men were in charge. Now a days women’s roles have changed. This has been a good thing, but it has left the rules of dating, courtship, and relationships up in the air.

Neither men nor women know what they should do to make relationships work any more. There just aren’t the same defined rules that there were. However, you can take some rules from the days long gone to make men more comfortable and capture his heart.

Let Him Do The Asking.

There is a part of the man that still longs to be in charge. When he isn’t he feels like he has lost his role in life. Even if he doesn’t realize it, letting him do the asking can make a huge difference in his comfort levels.

Let him ask you out. Let him call you first. Let him know you enjoy dating, but at the same time let him do the asking for additional dates.

Don’t Pressure Him.

Guys don’t respond well to pressure. It is important that you don’t put pressure on him. Instead let him sit back and relax.

Let Him Take The Lead.

While things have changed a lot with the women’s movement, men still long to be the leader. Letting him take the lead is a great way for him to feel really good about the relationship.

Keep It Slow.

Guys move a lot slower than women do. If you let him go at his pace than he will feel more comfortable and is more likely to let you capture his heart.
