Fixing relationships can be very difficult especially when you’ve realized how much damage you have cost to one another. It takes a lot of time and forgiveness to eventually forget those harsh words the other person said and heal the pain that had grown because of all the misunderstandings. Aside from all these things that make relationships truly a burden, there is always a way to start over. Such process requires a lot of love and trust to be able to restore each other’s affection.
Understand What Happened
It surely was a painful process to leave each other because of things that you have said or done. However, part of fixing a relationship is swallowing that pride and assessing what went wrong. You need to understand what problems you need to work in on a relationship to be able to make it better.
You Both Had Faults
Every fight or argument always has two separate poles. To make a relationship work, you need to bridge the gap between those two poles and humble yourselves. Obviously, you had your own shortcomings as a partner. Be ready to accept that and admit that mistake to your partner.
It Doesn’t Hurt to Apologize
The moment you have acknowledged your own mistake, apologize for it.

English Assignment- Write about one character’s life twenty years from now.
Sighing heavily an elderly Robert Langdon sank down into the worn leather wingback chair situated in front on the bay window. After nearly thirty years as a professor at Harvard University he was finally retiring. Cardboard boxes full of books were stacked near the door. His ornate wooden desk had been cleared of everything with the exception of a steel gray lamp that looked as if it had seen better days. The cream colored walls were now bare all of his paintings already locked safely away in storage. He ought to have been happy that he was finally getting the much needed break that he deserved. Yet he could not find it within himself to be happy.
Truth be told he was going to miss teaching greatly. The college students with all of their zeal for life had made him feel young. At sixty-one years of age though he was anything but . His once coarse black hair was now sparse and a muted gray. The athletic body that hed sported throughout most of his life had declined in the past few years and although by todays standards he was not fat he was certainly thick around the middle. Blue eyes that had been sharp in his younger years were now cloudy and tired looking. He let out a small chuckle as he recalled the headline Boston Magazine had used to describe him on the cover of their magazine nearly twenty years ago Harrison Ford in Harris Tweed.
While today comparing him to Harrison Ford would be considered a far stretch back in his prime it was not. Historical intrigues had taken him around the globe. With a soft smile he recalled his first adventure into the world of corrupt priests and centuries old coded messages. The Da Vinci Code as it had been dubbed by the press had tested all of his resources and all of his knowledge. Little had he known at the time it would also test his heart.
Sophie Neveu had unintentionally captured his heart with her bright green eyes and her simplistic nature. In all honesty it would be fair to admit that he owed his life to her. Shed been the one whod helped him escape from a revenge bent cop and a deadly ring of warped Catholics. Without her he never wouldve been able to discover the secret of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene. After the tumultuous journey had concluded the two of them had gone their separate ways. When hed finally realized that he had feelings for her it had been too late. An invitation arrived in his mailbox requesting his presence at the wedding of one Sophie Neveu to one Francois Babineau. Naturally he had politely declined feigning a previous engagement. Over the years other women had come and gone but he found all of them lacking. None of them were Sophie.
Now he had come to accept his life as a terminal bachelor. Stretching his stiff legs Robert rose and gathered his keys and briefcase from the table near the door. Tomorrow the moving crew would arrive and ship all of his things to his townhouse. Glancing around the room one final time he doubled check to make sure that he hadnt forgotten anything. He flipped off the light switch and locked the door. Pulling it shut behind him Robert Langdon headed out of the building and into the snowy February night ready to begin a new chapter of his life.
How did I do Bad Improvements
I liked it. But the only thing I would say is that if it were my story I would focus less on the charcter’s feelings and more on the important historical discoveries he made. Maybe you could detail other discoveries he made throughout his career which I’m sure were many and impressive. Also I wouldn’t really like to believe Robert had feelings for Sophie. I think of their relationship as an older brother and younger sister he is too old for her. But that’s just my thoughts. But good job I like your writing.
